Sheep were used as sacrifices in the temple, and for meat in the feasts and festivals. But as a business they were grown mostly for their wool. Because of that the sheep would often be with their shepherds for years and the shepherds would call them by name.

WELCOME

C
ALL TO WORSHIP
Though the way seems long and the road rough
Yet will we trust the One who leads us.
Though the direction is unknown and we don't know the outcome
Yet will we place our lives in Christ's loving care.
It is Christ who brings us out to green pastures and restores our souls.
It is Christ who gives us hope and peace. Praise be to Christ our Lord. AMEN.

ORDS OF CONFESSION
Merciful and Loving God, we ask forgiveness because
our consciousness of you is dimmed by everyday desires and needs.  We forget that we are a reflection of your image.  We act as though you are a Sunday-only event.. Help us to a greater common awareness of your deep mystery and infinite presence.  Open our eyes from surface focus to depth perception.  Turn our heads from shallow concerns to eternal truths.  Forgive us for our narrow and selfish ways.  Save us from cheap grace with your amazing grace.  Amen.
